This chair is called fan back windsor armchair, I believe. In the past, I enjoyed visiting antique stores in Oley Valley, PA. Saw this handmade reproduction chair in one of the small stores there. The stain is black, which was slightly altered in this painting. When you sit on it, your back would be well supported by curved spindles.
